Forestry Disposal Site

The City of Osawatomie provides a free forestry disposal site for residents to offload yard waste (such as grass clippings, leaves, small branches or brush, etc.). The site is located to the east of the City's water plant, tucked behind John Brown Memorial Park. Currently, the site is available Thursday thru Sunday from 10:00am to 8:00pm, or until sundown (whichever is earlier).
This site is for residents of Osawatomie ONLY. People who live in the county or who have commercial disposal needs may utilize the Miami County Transfer Station.
Current Disposal Rules (Subject to Change As Needed)
- NO household trash
- NO plastic, metal, or other non-organic material (including trash bags)
- NO hazardous material, such as paint cans, gas cans, or oil filters
- NO construction or demolition material
- NO contractor disposal or professional tree-trimmer disposal
- Leaves and grass must be dumped loose, or left in biodegradable paper bags

- CLOSED Monday thru Wednesday for Maintenance
- Exchange ID at Plant for Gate Key
- ID Returned After Disposal
- Must Provide Proof of Residency
