Looking to Report an Issue?

The City of Osawatomie has partnered with TextMyGov – a smart-technology texting tool that nearly all residents will be able to use regardless of their internet access. Using any mobile phone, residents can text in keywords and report anything from a roaming animal to a power outage.

With this software, residents are able to text in keywords (like Clerk, Utilities, or Cemetery) and the AI-technology can offer 24/7 assistance with finding contact information, directing to links on our website, or other information as requested.

Looking to report a pot hole on your block? Text "POT HOLE" to (913) 557-8777!

Forgot the link for online utility bill payment? Text “PAY BILL” to (913) 557-8777!

Need to report a power outage after-hours? Text “OUTAGE” to (913) 557-8777 and follow the prompts! Staff monitors reports coming in and can follow-up if necessary with updated information, to ask questions, or to confirm a problem has been resolved.

Quick, Easy, Efficient

In addition to resident reporting and informational resources, this technology allows us to push out text message notifications to any subscribed residents. This notification system can be used for non-emergent notices like a change in City Council location or a last-minute change to a City event, and can also be used in times of emergency or unusual circumstance.

THREE subscription options are currently available:

  • OZGENERAL for general City-wide notifications such as upcoming utility work or events
  • OZALERTS for emergency notifications such as boil orders or other matters of public safety
  • OZROADS for updates on large-scale road construction and closures

To subscribe to any of these notification groups, simply text one of the keywords listed above to phone number 91896 and follow the prompts to opt-in today!
