New Ways to Pay Utility Bills Announced

The City of Osawatomie Utility Billing Office is excited to announce two new ways for utility customers to manage their utility accounts. The City's billing partner, Tyler Technologies, has debuted a new mobile app and an opt-in text messaged based payment system. These two new programs are aimed to create additional convenience for customers.

To Enroll in Text-to-Pay:

Customers will hear a prompt while making an automated over-the-phone payment to sign up for Text-to-Pay. The prompt will occur after the automated system confirms the customer’s payment amount and ask them if they would like to enroll for Text-to-Pay (or customers may decline enrollment). Once they accept to enroll, customers will receive a text message to their phone as shown below. Anytime a new balance is posted they will get a text message just like the one below and can follow the prompts to submit a payment.

How does it work?
 
  1. User Calls into the IVR and selects the option to sign up for Pay via Text.
  2. The system sends the user a text message to confirm sign up.
  3. After the user confirms the enrollment, the system will send the user a text message when a new balance is available on the user’s utility account.
  4. To make a payment, the user will reply to the text with, “Pay.”
  5. The system sends the user a confirmation text with the receipt number

  • Download the "My Civic Utilities" app in your preferred app store
  • Search "Osawatomie, Kansas" within the app Select "Utility Billing" to log-in
  • Log-In OR Register!
    • If you already have an account from the municipalonlinepayments.com website, you can use the same login information
    • If you don't have an existing account, you will need to enter in the account number (with dashes) and provide the last payment amount made on the account
  • Explore the app to find account history, payment information, and other resources and tools
