The City of Osawatomie Arts Commission is excited to announce the return of the newest live music event in Osawatomie -- Porchfest!

Porchfest is a completely free family-friendly community event, open for anyone to attend or perform. Acoustic or low amplification musical performances take place on porches, and in yards and driveways, as a celebration of our community and local artists. Simply pack a cooler (no alcohol!) and a lawn chair to enjoy the event with your friends and families. Please note that chairs and transportation between performances is the responsibility of each attendee -- the Arts Commission cannot provide seating or assist with transportation within the event zone.

This year's Porchfest will once again take place on Brown Avenue between the 900 and 1100 blocks. Sets are one hour long, and performers will be staggered up and down the block to keep the tunes and good vibes spinning all afternoon!

PORCHFEST 2025 SCHEDULE

Musicians may have tip jars available during their sets -- please let them know how much we appreciate them volunteering their time and talent for this free community event!

NEW FOR 2025: LOCAL FOOD AND DRINK VENDORS!

The City of Osawatomie Arts Commission is thrilled to include local Elks Lodge #921 and Knights of Columbus as concession vendors at Porchfest. The Elks will have hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and beverages. Knights of Columbus members will be serving up their famous "fair food" including funnel cakes and fried desserts.

The History of Porchfests

From Porchfest.org: "Porchfest is a music festival held on the porches of the Fall Creek and Northside neighborhoods of Ithaca, NY. Porchfest is free and open for anyone to attend or perform. Performances take place on porches, and in yards and driveways, in a celebration of our vibrant creative community. Porchfest began in 2007, inspired by some outdoor ukulele playing and a conversation between neighbors Gretchen Hildreth and Lesley Greene. They came up with the idea for it that day and gathered 20 bands to make it happen in September of that year. The number of bands has increased every year since then, with 185 recorded in 2016."

Porchfest Tennessee

Porchfest has grown to over 200 communities across the United States, Canada, and Australia. Small towns, big cities, and all the communities in between have created their own celebrations. Osawatomie is proud to join that ever-growing list!
