Water Service Interruptions Announced

City of Osawatomie Utilities officials have announced water service interruptions and partial road closures for the 500 blocks of Lincoln Avenue and Parker Avenue beginning Tuesday, August 13th, 2024, weather permitting.

As construction on 6th Street progresses north toward city limits, utility relocations and final service tie-ins are required ahead of roadbed demolition and reconstruction. Utilities crews will be performing water service tie-ins to the new water main and will need to shut off service to nearby neighborhoods to complete the connections. Residents in the indicated area below will be without water service during business hours Tuesday and Wednesday until work is completed. The intersections of Lincoln and 6th and Parker and 6th will be closed to east/west traffic until temporary fill is in place. Traffic may still move north/south on 6th Street during this time. The speed limit has been reduced to 15mph for the entirety of 6th Street as construction expands.
