Mile Zero Trailhead Survey

psp phase iii postcard

In late 2024, the City of Osawatomie was awarded a third Planning Sustainable Places planning grant through Mid-America Regional Council to help complete our network of pedestrian pathways, active transportation opportunities, and community amenities. Previous PSP studies in Osawatomie include Phase I ("Oz Commons") and Phase II ("The Hub") in 2021 and 2023, respectively. The final reports and recommendations for those phases can be found on our website.

These planning grants connect communities to professionals that help facilitate public engagement on the project(s), collect valuable data, create architectural renderings, identify infrastructure development opportunities, and more.

For Phase III, we're focusing on creating a big splash with our biggest landmark -- Mile Zero! We’re creating a long-term plan for the trailhead that welcomes visitors, supports local pride, and reflects what makes Osawatomie special. Your ideas will shape a destination we can all enjoy — whether you're walking, biking, or just taking it all in.
