Main Street Reopened, Brown Ave Work Continues

The intersection of 12th Street and Brown Avenue will be closed temporarily beginning today (Monday 11/6) so crews can remove existing road surfaces in preparation for new pavement.

This closure means that the intersection will be totally inaccessible in every direction. Public Works officials estimate the closure will last no more than two weeks (weather dependent).

Following the successful installation of major stormwater upgrades between Brown Avenue and Main Street, the entirety of Main Street is now open! These stormwater upgrades, located at 8th Street and 10th Street, were a critical part of the Brown Avenue total reconstruction project currently in progress between 7th Street and 12th Street.

While Main Street is now fully reopened, public works officials have announced that the intersection of 12th and Brown will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, November 6th, as concrete work and other road improvements continue on Brown Avenue. More information on Brown Avenue's progress will be released as the project advances through its next phases and nears completion.
