Annual Cold Weather Policy Reminder

cold weather policy reminder

The City of Osawatomie's regular Cold Weather Policy is in effect beginning tomorrow, November 1st, 2025. This policy, which mirrors those of regulated utilities such as Kansas Gas Service and Evergy, states that customers will not be disconnected for non-payment when temperatures are predicted to be below 35 degrees. Shut-off activity will resume when temperatures are predicted to remain at-or-above 35 degrees for 48 continuous hours. Once an account is shut off for nonpayment, the account must be paid in full for it to be turned back on.

If you have questions regarding your utility account, please call our offices at 913-755-2146.
