Water Service Interruptions

Update | January 23, 2024 - 12:27pm: The bulk water machine is back in service. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we repaired the station.

Update | January 18, 2024 - 4:16pm: The bulk water machine is not in service at this time. It is experiencing continuing complications from the cold weather and our techs have pulled it out of service this afternoon. We will issue an update once the machine is fully operational.

Update | January 17, 2024 - 4:03pm: The hydrant repair at 11th and Chestnut is finished and water service should be returned to normal!

Members of the City of Osawatomie utilities team are repairing a badly leaking hydrant near the intersection of 11th Street and Chestnut Avenue this afternoon, in the Chestnut Manor apartment complex area. Water service for residents in the 1100 Block of Chestnut will be interrupted while the repair work is completed. Crews estimate the repair to take at least two hours.

In addition, ongoing frigid temperatures have taken the bulk water machine out of service. Utility technicians anticipate it being available tomorrow afternoon following a break in below-freezing temperatures.
