Water Main Break Impacting West Neighborhoods

Break Triggered a Low Pressure Event, Boil Water Advisory
Water Leak

Update 10/4/2023 | The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded the precautionary boil water advisory for the City of Osawatomie public water supply system. Water use and consumption may return to normal.

City of Osawatomie utility crews are on-site working a large break of a 10" water main near Osawatomie High School. While the repair work is being performed, a large portion of the community's western neighborhoods will experience lower than-normal water pressure or no pressure/water at all. The impact includes all Osawatomie water services north of Pacific Avenue and west of 11th Street.

A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for the impacted area of the community until further notice. The break in the line has triggered a low-pressure event in the water system, which requires a boil advisory until the water can be tested and cleared. We will publish a notice on our website and via social media once the order has been lifted.
