Main Street Gets Concrete

concrete work

Public Works crews and Killough Construction are jumping on the break in bad weather and laying several inches of concrete over the newly installed stormwater improvements along Main Street at 8th St. This work is part of the total reconstruction project of Brown Avenue between 7th St. and 12th St.

The concrete will need TEN DAYS to cure so PLEASE do not move traffic barricades or remove the protective fencing in an attempt to cross. Disturbing the concrete within those ten days can jeopardize the curing process and may result in cracks or other failures that will require a total removal and re-pour.

If the concrete cures without developing failures, Main Street will be reopened on November 6th!

This work was originally planned to begin on Tuesday, October 24th but the area has received several inches of rain, which caused delays.
