Lincoln Avenue Intersection Reopens

City of Osawatomie Public Works officials are excited to announce that westbound overpass access is now available via Lincoln Avenue! The continued patience and understanding of residents and travelers is very appreciated, and allowed the new concrete in that area to properly cure without disruption. The concrete underwent industry standard testing and passed with flying colors, allowing contractors to reopen that portion of 6th Street to east/west traffic once again.
Other construction continues as part of the overall 6th Street Rehabilitation Project and some sections of roadway are still inaccessible or only allowing one-way traffic:
- SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC ONLY is currently permitted between Lincoln Ave and Pacific Ave
- EAST/WEST TRAFFIC is available for business access at Parker Ave
- NO EAST/WEST TRAFFIC at the Brown Ave intersection (or at the 6th/Brown alley entrance)
- BOTH LANES OPEN between Pacific Ave and Kelly Ave
Officials look forward to continued progress and note that the project is still currently considered "on schedule" to meet its substantial completion deadline in mid-January 2025.
