Hydrant Flushing Continues

As part of the regularly scheduled Free Chlorine Burnout, members of the Osawatomie Water Plant staff are flushing hydrants through August 5th, 2022.

Hydrant flushing is routine maintenance for water distribution systems, but residents may notice low water pressure or temporary discoloration while the work is performed in their area.

If you see a crew flushing a hydrant on your street, avoid running tap water and using the washing machine or the dishwasher until the flushing is completed.

For motorists who see hydrant-flushing crews working, please drive carefully and treat them like any other road construction crew. Help keep our staff safe!
