City Partners with Local Food Truck for Summer Schedule

City of Osawatomie officials are excited to announce a new partnership to benefit the downtown corridor.

Beginning Thursday, June 1st, 2023, local food truck restaurateur Bull Creek BBQ will be the first ever "food truck in residence" at the developing Main Street Plaza in downtown Osawatomie. Bull Creek BBQ, owned and operated by Justin and Renee Bowman of Fontana, Kansas, offers award winning BBQ and an ever evolving menu of local favorites, including the coveted BBQ Sundae. Recent wins include three Gold listings in the 2022 Best of Miami County Awards for Best Catering, Best Smoked Meat/BBQ, and Best Food Truck. City officials hope that this partnership will help maintain vitality in the downtown corridor during the summer season and get more people involved in upcoming downtown activities and redevelopment.

Main Street Plaza, the developing transitional plaza at 530 Main Street in downtown Osawatomie, will welcome Bull Creek BBQ for lunch service on Mondays and Thursdays, and dinner service on select weekends throughout the summer. While subject to change based on weather or product availability, their Osawatomie calendar currently includes the following dates and times:

• DINNER
  • Select Fridays and Saturdays
    • 4:00pm to 8:00pm
      • June 2-3
      • June 9-10
      • July 7-8
      • July 14-15

      • August 19-20

The plaza includes picnic table seating, a newly leveled crushed gravel surface, and will soon include shade structures and other amenities to make it a comfortable, casual place to hang out and enjoy a meal with friends, family, or coworkers.
