Brown Avenue Concrete Update

City of Osawatomie officials have confirmed that Phoenix Concrete crew members will be continuing concrete work on Brown Avenue between 7th and 12th Streets on Saturday, November 18th, 2023. Work will be limited to pouring driveway approaches. Officials request that residents do not park on driveways until at least five days have passed from when a driveway has been poured to allow the appropriate cure time. Entering driveways, even accidentally, before the concrete has fully cured will void the warranty. The City of Osawatomie will not replace driveways that void the warranty.

Though crews are working over the weekend to get driveways installed, please note that the majority of driveways will NOT be accessible by the Thanksgiving holiday. Inform any guests that holiday parking will be limited to curbside or other alternatives.

Overall reconstruction work continues on Brown Avenue, which is still on schedule for substantial completion later this month. City officials are looking forward to celebrating the completed project this holiday season.
