6th Street Construction Update

Public Works Officials Announce that 6th Street Progress has hit 80%
6th Street Construction Update 80% Complete

We’re in the home stretch, Osawatomie! Here’s what the contractor has planned moving forward as we push toward completion:

This week:

  • Friday 11/15: Expect intermittent closures on 6th Street between Lincoln Ave and Brown Ave to accommodate concrete trucks as they pour the remainder of the travel lanes. Dollar General and Casey’s access will be maintained via the driveway across 6th St from Lincoln Ave. Overpass access from Lincoln Ave will remain open.
  • Saturday 11/16: Pouring concrete at the Parker Ave intersection.

Next Week, 11/18-11/23

  • Monday 11/18 or Tuesday 11/19: Pouring concrete at the Brown Ave intersection (weather permitting).
  • Remainder of that week and the week of Thanksgiving: Concrete is planned for on-street parking, driveways, and sidewalks.

The shutdown of the Main Street intersection is tentatively scheduled for the week of Thanksgiving or the week of December 2 for full reconstruction. This will be weather dependent and the exact date announced as we get closer.

We’re 80% done, and your patience is helping Pave the Way to the finish line! Thank you for sticking with us—stay tuned for more updates!
