Join us for the annual Freedom Festival in John Brown Memorial Park as part of the "Signature Event Series" sponsored by the City of Osawatomie!
This fun, family-friendly, and FREE event takes place each year inside John Brown Memorial Park and features a variety of Civil War-era performances, tours, special lectures, and other immersive activities to transport people of all ages back to the beginning of our community.
The lineup for 2023 includes:

- Opening Flag Ceremony (Reenactors, American Legion Honor Guard, American Legion Riders, Osawatomie Boy Scout Troop 106)
- Special Tours of Adair Cabin with Mary Buster, Great-Great Granddaughter of Samuel and Florella Adair (Until 5:00 pm)
- 10:30 am
- Artillery Demonstration with Cannon Fire
- 11:00 am
- Battle of New Georgia with Cannon Fire
- 11:30 am
- President Abraham Lincoln performed by Steve Burns
- 12:15 pm
- Crooked River Posse: Bleeding Kansas Cabin Scene Reenactment
