Is your inner Poe just DYING to break free? Are you an elder emo with a Notes app full of HAUNTING poetry? Boy, do we have a program for you...

As part of National Arts and Humanities Month, the Osawatomie Arts Commission is proud to present the first SPOOKY STORIES literature event on October 18th, 2022. This LIVE storytelling event will feature local writers and storytellers presenting their original scary stories, perilous poetry, and other pieces of frightening fiction. This event is co-hosted by the Osawatomie Public Library. We would love to see a stacked roster of local artists showcasing their talents! This event will be very chill, and a perfect opportunity for writers of all experience levels to get in front of friendly faces and share their passion. No critiques, no pressures, just good ol' spooky fun! Think of it like ghost stories around the campfire at sleepaway camp, but with light refreshments and no mosquito bites.

Our all-ages event will feature a variety of spooky stories from across different literature forms, so parental discretion is advised for younger attendees. We cannot guarantee that all the thrills and chills will be appropriate for little ears and imaginations!

If you've got a spooky story to share, sign up today and claim your spot on stage!
