Public Library Board of Trustees Position Vacancy

City of Osawatomie officials are seeking qualified applicants to serve on the Osawatomie Public Library Board of Trustees.
The Public Library Board of Trustees is tasked with ensuring that the Osawatomie Public Library is a benefit to the community and is run in accordance with applicable statutes, policies, and procedures. Trustees operate in an advisory role and participate in large-scale strategic planning for the Library and its mission.
Persons interested in serving on an appointed board or commission must first be eligible for appointment. Eligibility is as follows, as was defined by Resolution 1251:
- Applicant must be 18 years of age or older
- Applicant must be a resident, property owner, or business owner/operator within the Osawatomie zip code (66064) [Library Board Trustees must reside within the city's limits.]
- Pursuant to Osawatomie City Code 1-212 (e): Applicant and Spouse/Partner must not have any conflict(s) of interest in the business of the body
The application period for these vacancies will remain open until February 1st, 2025, or until sufficient applicants apply. A completed public service application must be submitted to be considered for appointment. Please download a copy and return it to City Hall or via email ([email protected]).
