The Osawatomie Public Library, located at 527 Brown Ave., is a treasure of the community and has been serving patrons since 1889.
The Library operates its own website and generates a ton of fun content for bookworms and bibliophiles. Check them out online to learn more about their programming, activities, and updates. Hours of Operation
- Monday – Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Sunday: Closed
The Osawatomie Public Library offer thousands of volumes ranging from autobiographies to zoological encyclopedias and everything in between and have dedicated departments for adults, young adults, and youth/children. Happy to serve all patrons, they make dedicated efforts to bring in other forms of media, including audiobooks, e-books, large print, and Playaways (audiobooks for children).
Programming continues to grow and staff is pleased to offer a variety of crafting, take-and-play, lecture series, and other interactive programming opportunities for patrons of all ages. Got an idea for programming? They’d love to hear it!
In addition to books, the Library proudly carries over 1,500 movies, have six public access computers with free Internet access, public access to printing and copying/faxing, and a robust interlibrary loan network. If you want it, they can get it!
In recent years, the Library has made bold moves into the makerspace world and has quite the inventory of equipment to help you upgrade most any project:
