Vaccine Interest Survey Now Open for All Aged 16+

The Miami County COVID-19 Vaccination Interest Form is now available for anyone 16 years of age or older to fill out. The interest form is used to gather information from individuals in all phases for those interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. Once submitted, Miami County Health Department staff will use the interest form (both ways of submission) to contact you with information to schedule your vaccination appointment.

"No Place Like Home" at OMS

Osawatomie Middle School teacher Lori French's 7th grade "No Place Like Home" class got to learn first-hand how local governments work during an interactive presentation by City Manager Mike Scanlon, Mayor Mark Govea, and City Council President Karen LaDuex.
Students were quizzed over things like ward boundaries, local elections and term limits, and what municipal utilities the City provides. After presentations from Mayor Govea and Councilmember LaDuex, Mr. Scanlon walked them through the average work day for someone in city administration and described what sort of responsibilities his job entails, while explaining how city administration works in tandem with City Council to create the policies and programs for the community and its residents.
