Students from Osawatomie Middle School are participating in a nine-week elective class called "Food Truck Wars" taught by Mrs. Haney (7th grade math). Their slogan? "We're learning business by doing business!" Each group of students formulates a business plan, creates a menu and a budget, and obtains a "loan" from the principal. They host a pop-up stand to sell their wares and the most profitable group gets their choice of prize! Tomorrow morning is the first public pop-up at Osawatomie Middle School. The students rotate electives each 9 weeks so four groups will rotate through and each get a chance to participate. Support these budding entrepreneurs on Saturday morning from 10am - 12pm!

Our new fall clean up day is Saturday, October 16th, 2021! Same rules as our annual city-wide cleanup apply (no tires, no appliances, no construction debris, no batteries or other hazardous material, no household trash, etc.). Dumpsters will be available at select locations in town and residents will be able to dump their own items -- see our flyer next week for final details, including dumpster locations!

Weather conditions permitting, we will be burning the forestry site on Monday, October 11th, 2021. There will be no drop-off allowed on Monday, or until the site is cleared for use.
PLEASE REMEMBER that the forestry site does not permit the drop-off of construction or remodeling debris (a recent drop-off of banned material is shown to the right), household trash, or other refuse. The site is strictly for yard waste, lawn clippings, leaves, and other natural debris. If abuse of the service or site continues, we will close the site indefinitely.

OZ Commons Recommendations Presentation to Council
Join us as we present recommendations to City Council for the OZ Commons Downtown Redevelopment project! We received 350 responses to the community survey, and over 170 people participated in either our community meetings or virtual activities. Successful community listening and idea sessions also provided insight on what our community wants to see in the next generation of Osawatomie’s growth. Thank you so much for your participation in this exciting planning process for our community!
