Oz Commons Final Presentation

OZ Commons Recommendations Presentation to Council

Join us as we present recommendations to City Council for the OZ Commons Downtown Redevelopment project this Thursday (October 14th, 2021)! The final presentation will be held during our regular City Council meeting at Osawatomie City Auditorium starting at 6:30pm.

We received 350 responses to the community survey, and over 170 people participated in either our community meetings or virtual activities. Successful community listening and idea sessions also provided insight on what our community wants to see in the next generation of Osawatomie’s growth. Thank you so much for your participation in this exciting planning process for our community!

These recommendations, designs, and data collection studies were conducted and coordinated by our consultant team:

  • Architect One
  • Alta Planning & Design
  • Shockey Consulting

This Planning Sustainable Places grant was awarded to the City of Osawatomie by the Mid-America Regional Council.

Fall Clean Up Day 2021

The City of Osawatomie is hosting a Fall Clean Up Day this Saturday (October 16th, 2021) from 8:00am to 4:00pm! Residents can haul their own bulky or irregular items to a designated “drop off” zone north of the high school where Waste Management will have several roll off dumpsters available.

This is a self-service opportunity — Waste Management will NOT be running trucks for curbside or alley pickup!

Items allowed for drop-off include:

  • Furniture
  • TVs and other electronics
  • Mattresses and box springs
  • Rugs/carpets that are rolled and tied
  • Lawn mowers (drained of oil and gasoline)
  • Other irregular, non-hazardous items

Items NOT allowed for drop-off include:

  • Tires
  • Appliances of any kind
  • Limbs or yard waste (please take them across to the forestry disposal site!)
  • Regular household trash (save it for regular weekly pickup)
  • Batteries, paint, or other hazardous materials
  • Construction or demolition material
